Fire Saw |
This is an odd little tool, a sort of long-reach, miniature circular saw. I believe it is intended to cut sheet metal. (It came from the estate auction of a famous race car builder.) |
Small Circular Saw |
This has been my workhorse circular saw for decades. Bit of oil now and then and I expect it will last a good bit longer. Most recently I used it to cut the tops off dozens of 4x4 inch (100cm square) fence posts after they had been set in concrete. |
This shape of circular saw is good for working on wood panels and other large, thin sheets. The blade is small, but the handle gives you some extra reach. |
Small circular saws are very handy for cutting plywood panels, because they are light enough to be comfortable even when reaching to the far side of a full sheet. |

Porter Cable Cordless Circular Saw |
These are sometimes known as demolition saws. They are gas powered circular saws used by my local fire department to rapidly cut their way into a burning building, or rescue someone trapped in a car or structure. |
Circular Saw |
Somewhat more expensive models work fine too. |
Fire Storm Cordless Circular Saw |
Battery powered circular saws are surprisingly powerful these days. Even cheap ones are very effective. |
Inexpensive circular saws are everywhere, for good reason: they get the work done. |
