This very heavy cast iron router jig is designed to cut blind pockets in stair stringers (the two long boards the run along each side of a stairway holding up the treads). The treads fit into the grooves, leaving the outside of the boards smooth and attractive-looking. Many little adjustments on the jig let you set the size and spacing of the treads.
